Tea Growers Academy is an international platform dedicated to empowering tea farmers, cooperatives, NGOs, and government agencies to build strong, sustainable, and high-quality tea value chains. We work from leaf to cup, helping tea growers take control of production, quality, storytelling, and market access.
We believe that great tea is not just grown, it is made, evaluated, and communicated. That’s why we offer hands-on training and advisory services covering every step of the tea journey: from plucking to packaging, from quality scoring to defect diagnosis, from cost calculation to professional sample preparation.
Where we work
Our team has supported tea projects in Myanmar, Laos, India, Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. In each context, we collaborate closely with farmers, youth groups, local trainers, governments and institutions to strengthen knowledge and capacity on the ground.
What makes us different
Tea Growers Academy is unique because we bring all expertise under one roof:
- Field knowledge: agroecology, cultivar selection, sustainable management
- Tea making like white, yellow, green, Oolong, black, post-fermented teas
- Quality control: tasting, scoring (International Tea Tasting Form) and defect tracing
- Business skills: cost-price modelling, packaging, branding, marketing, storytelling
- Market access: direct trade connections, sample preparation, buyer communication
- Certification support: Organic, ISO, and other international standards
Whether you’re a smallholder producer or a government official designing a national tea strategy, we can support you with practical, proven methods adapted to your context.
What we offer
- Custom training programmes for farmers and field officers
- Train-the-trainer curricula and incubation models
- Practical manuals and tasting tools
- Project design, monitoring and technical backstopping
- Public–private partnerships for tea sector transformation
Why we do it
Too many tea producers remain invisible in the global value chain. We want to change that. By equipping tea farmers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to make their own tea, and to talk about it, we help build a more inclusive, transparent and flavour-driven tea economy.
